Creating an Account: A Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these steps to create an account:
Step 1: Navigate to the Sign Up Page
Visit our Commented website using your favorite web browser. Once on our homepage, you have two options to start the sign up process:
Option 1: via the Navigation Bar
Look for the "Log in" button, located at the top right of the screen and click on it.
Option 2: via Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons
We have placed CTA buttons throughout our web page to make your sign up process as easy and straightforward as possible. Click on any of these buttons, and they will lead you to the registration page.
Step 2: Click on the Sign Up Link
Click on this link to initiate the process of creating a new account from scratch. This will lead you to the account creation page where you’ll be asked to provide some basic information.
Step 3: Choose Your Sign Up Method
On the sign up screen, you’ll see several options to create your Commented account.
Option 1: Sign Up with Existing Accounts
You can choose to sign up using your existing Google, GitHub, or Slack account. Click on the corresponding button and follow the specified prompts. You'll be asked to authorize Commented to access your basic account information. This process is secure and won't compromise the safety of your existing accounts.
Option 2: Sign Up with Email
If you prefer, you can also create your account using your email address. Here, you’ll need to enter your email address and create a secure password in the provided fields.
Your password must meet the following criteria:
At least 8 characters in length
Include at least 3 of the following:
Lowercase letters (a-z)
Uppercase letters (A-Z)
Numbers (0-9)
Special characters (e.g., !@#$%^&)*
These requirements are to ensure the maximum security of your account.
After choosing your preferred signup method and providing the necessary details, click on the "Continue" button to proceed and let the onboarding process begin!
Verify Your Email
It's very important to verify your email address.
If you signed up using your email, a verification email will be sent to the inbox of the email address you provided during the signup. This email contains a verification link.
Here's how you can verify your email
Open the inbox of your email account. Look for the verification email from Commented. If you can't find the email in your inbox, make sure to check your spam or junk folder.
Once you've found the email, open it and click on the verification link. This will confirm your email address and activate your Commented account.
After successful verification, you’ll be redirected back to Commented, where you can start setting up your workspace.
