Connecting Commented with Notion: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access Workspace

  • Log in to your Commented account.

  • Navigate to the desired workspace or project.

Step 2: Enable and Authorize Notion Integration

  • In the workspace or project, click on the "Integrations" button on the upper right side of your screen.

  • Choose the "Notion" integration option from the list on the left side of your screen.

  • Click on "Connect" at the bottom of your screen.

  • A new window will open, requesting you to log in to your Notion account. Choose the option you prefer, enter the necessary information, and continue.

  • Another window will open, requesting permission to access your Notion pages. Select the pages that you want, and grant the necessary permission by clicking on the "Allow access" button.

  • When the connection process is done, you’ll be navigated back to Commented and you’ll receive a notification on the upper right corner of your screen.

Step 3: Configure Notion Settings

  • After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Commented.

  • Configure the settings to determine the project name and the Notion database where notifications will be sent.

Make sure that you've created a database on the Notion page that you want to connect Commented with.

Sending Comments to Notion

Now that your integration is set up, sending comments to Notion is a breeze. You can send your comment to Notion either from your canvas or your dashboard:

From Canvas

  • While reviewing a web page or project in Commented, leave comments and annotations as usual.

  • Locate the pin you want to send to Notion and click on it to view its’ details.

  • Find the "Integration" button to view your options. Click on "Send to Notion" option.

  • Now, you’ll be navigated to your Commented dashboard, where you can view the pin details.

If you haven’t done so, please integrate Notion to your Commented workspace to proceed.

  • Check the "Database" and "Title" fields, and revise according to your needs. Click on the "Submit" button to proceed.

  • Click on the "See in Notion" button at the bottom of the pin screenshot in the pin details page to navigate to the related page in Notion.

From Dashboard

  • Log in to your Commented account and navigate to the workspace where you’ll find the comment that you want to send to Notion.

  • Locate the pin you want to send to Notion and click on it to view its’ details.

  • Find the "Add to Notion" button below the pin screenshot, and click on it.

  • Check the "Database" and "Title" fields, and revise according to your needs. Click on the "Submit" button to proceed.

  • Click on the "See in Notion" button at the bottom of the pin screenshot in the pin details page to navigate to the related page in Notion.
