Connecting Commented with Jira: Step-by-Step Guide

Follow the steps below to connect Commented with your Jira project effortlessly:

Step 1: Access the Integrations Page

  • Log in to your Commented account.

  • Navigate to the workspace dashboard that you want to connect Jira with.

  • Find the "Integrations" button on the workspace dashboard menu.

Step 2: Select Jira

  • Within the Integrations page, locate and select "Jira" from the list on the left side of your screen.

  • Click on the "Add to Jira" button.

Step 3: Enable and Authorize

  • You’ll be navigated to a page where you’ll have to grant necessary permissions.

  • Click on the ‘Accept’ button at the bottom of the page to authorize.

Step 4: Log in to Jira

  • If you’re not logged in to Jira, you’ll be directed to another page where you’ll have to enter your credentials.

  • Provide the necessary information to proceed.

Step 5: Configure Settings and Choose Projects

  • Once Commented and Jira are connected, you’ll be directed back to the integrations page in Commented.

  • Provide a ‘Project Name’ (related Commented project) and a ‘Jira Channel’ (related Jira project) by using the dropdown menus.

Creating a New Issue in Jira

  • Log in to Commented.

  • Navigate to the related pin or comment, and view its’ details.

  • Click on the ‘New Jira Issue’ button below the screenshot.

  • Upon clicking the button, a drawer will open. Enter the necessary information in the provided field.

  • Once you’re done, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
